Winter wonderland
The winter in Wiesen is spectacular. Enjoy the snow-covered landscape while skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking or sledging. Ice princesses have the possibility to go skating and adventurers can choose to build an igloo.
Apart from all this, 18 December marks the beginning of our holiday programme with many festive activities in and around the children's hotel.

Children's ski school
Wiesen has its own ski school directly in the town with a gentle practice slope and children's ski lift. Children from 4 years of age practice there in the mornings. Older children ski on the nearby Rinerhorn. New: the youngest children (3-4 years) practice in the toddlers' ski school in the afternoons.
We provide transfer to the ski school free of charge by hotel bus.

Skiing
Wiesen is located next to one of the largest skiing areas in the Alps. You can choose to explore the snowboard paradise on the Jakobshorn, the Parseen skiing area, a classic, or the locals' insider tip, the nearby Rinerhorn!
From Christmas to the middle of March, Wiesen has a small ski lift and a gentle practice slope. In the mornings, the area is mainly used by the Wiesen ski school. In the afternoons, most of the ski students are busy putting their new knowledge into practice. Some parents have even enjoyed a refresher course here in order to be able to keep up with their kids!

Winter hiking
Put on good footgear and get moving!
Surrounding the mountain village of Wiesen are innumerable prepared walking and hiking paths that invite guests to discover the wildly romantic region. Davos offers many additional walking trails (Schatzalp, Promenade, Lake Davos, Dischma Valley, Sertig Valley, etc).
Whether with a baby back carrier, 3-wheel wagon or a traditional Davos sledge - walking with kids through the snow is an adventure!
More information about winter hiking can be found here.
Other possibilities
Toboggan run Preda - Bergün
A day trip takes you with the famous red Rhätische Bahn through many tunnels to Preda. From here things go slowly and then faster and faster down into the valley. Well constructed curves. Wide path; in the summer part of the Albula road.
If you had fun, then take the next train back up again.
More information
Toboggan run Rinerhorn
Only 7 minutes by car you will find the popular Davos toboggan run.
Take the gondola seating 6 persons up to an elevation of 1950 m. Fast, elaborately prepared run. For advanced tobogganers.
Cross-country skiing
An idyllic cross-country and skating ski run (3.5 km) is located above the school building on the "Bodä".
Other possibilities:
You can use Davos' extended ski run network (75 km) with different levels of difficulty by getting on in Davos Glaris. The area boasts separate ski runs for classic and skating, a night ski run, a new racing ski run into the Flüela Valley, and a classic ski run into the Sertig Valley.
Ice skating
From the natural ice rink to the ice path
- on the natural ice rink in Wiesen by the school building
- on the natural and artificial skating rink in Davos (even in the summer!)
- or on the skateline in Surava, the 1st ice path in Switzerland
The skateline is a natural skating path about 3 km in length and 3m wide, which has been set up on a hiking path. A visit is worthwhile, even during the snow-free season!
Skates (also for kids) can be rented in Wiesen at Albula Sport, in Davos at the skating rink and at the skateline in Surava.
Snowshoeing
During the winter we organise guided snowshoe hikes to the Wiesner Alp.
It is easy to learn how to snowshoe. If you are just a little bit fit, you'll be able to experience unparalleled peace off the beaten track.
Contribution toward expenses incl. lunch and guide CHF 65.00 / EUR 42.00
You can also rent snowshoes for yourself for a few hours and make fresh tracks in the snow with the kids.
Building an igloo
An extraordinary adventure! Together with your older children you will snowshoe up to the Alp where you will actively help tread snow, saw and assemble snow blocks.
Those who want to can sleep in the igloo. The other participants will hike back to the hotel and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.
