Crystal treasure hunt on Wiesner Alp
According to an old legend, there is still a glittering crystal treasure hidden in one of the many cabins on the Wiesner Alp. A local man called "Graggenloch-Hans" was a diligent crystal seeker, who - at the top of the alp where the crows circle, next to a hole called Graggenloch - retrieved the most beautiful crystals from a hidden crevasse. Unfortunately, Hans is no more and the crystal treasure was never found. His last wish, however, was that it should be divided equally between all the children, in case someone should find it...

Castle ruin Greifenstein
Above Filisur - at the foot of Muchetta - the proud Greifenstein castle once stood many years ago, from where you had a spectacular view over the whole Albula Valley. Unfortunately, the castle is now a ruin, and the locals have even removed stone after stone in order to build a new school house down in the town. However, there is still said to be a great treasure with old coins bricked in the remainder of the old ruin. Who will find the mysterious stone with the eagle crest of the Greifenstein castle, behind which the treasure is located in a wall crevasse?
Programme and duration: Hike of about 1 ½ hours to Filisur, lunch break at Schönboden, descent from the castle ruin over an impressive fixed rope route and return journey by Rätische Bahn to Wiesen.
Bear hunt
With good footwear we take up our bear hunt and search for traces of Mr. Bear in the wildly romantic Albula Valley. With some luck and a good portion of courage we may even find the cave between Alvaneu and Wiesen, in which the bear JJ3 hibernated...
Duration: Hike of about 1 ½ hours, return journey with the postbus from Schmitten
The crystal crevasse at Piz Tarantschun
At the foot of Piz Tarantschun high above the Posterior Rhine, small rock crevasses with beautiful crystals are hidden under lush alpine pastures.
The programme: Together we will take a ride up to Alp Curtignatsch - at an elevation of 2300 metres the highest alp in Grisons - from where we will ascend to the crystal crevasses. Following our hike over alpine pastures, we will fortify ourselves at the foot of Piz Tarantschun with a well-deserved picnic from our backpacks. Afterwards we will search for the hidden crystal crevasses and with some luck and patience as well as a hammer and chisel we can hammer glittering crystals out of the rock.
Duration: All-day excursion, hike of about 4.5 hours.
Petroglyphs Carschenna
Mysterious petroglyphs were discovered between Thusis and Sils in the Domleschg in the sixties. Even today scientists are still riddling over the meaning of the 4000 year old, concentric circles and mysterious figures: who chiselled these symbols into the stone plate? What did these figures mean?
Programme and duration: We will draw the mystic symbols with pencils on paper and try to find out their meaning together. We will enjoy our picnic in a spectacular clearing and discuss our discovery at this historical site. Ascension of about 1 ½ hours and further hike to Thusis of another 1 ½ hours.
Postbag robbery
Many years ago brazen robbers stole a postbag from the Ratische Bahn train on the well-known Albula railroad line.
During their escape, the robbers transferred in Filisur to a train to Davos.
On their way, they threw the postbag out of the train window on the Wiesen viaduct into the Landwasser below, because the police were already waiting for them at the train station.
Programme and duration: We will begin our search for the lost postbag on the 80 metre high Wiesen viaduct and then hike along the Landwasser where we can marvel at the imposing RhB railway bridge from an unfamiliar perspective. Hike of about 2 hours, return journey by Rhätische Bahn.
Search for minerals in the Nolla gorge
Following a 30 minute drive by hotel bus, we will hike from Thusis into the imposing, wildly romantic Nolla gorge. Our lunch break takes us to an idyllically located barbecue spot where we find out lots of interesting facts about the various rocks that can be found in the Nolla gorge. Afterwards, we will look for special grey-brown rocks in the wide streambed, in which the glittering pyrite is said to be embedded and crack open our findings with a hammer. The sparkling fool's gold enchants us and we marvel at the fascinating pyrite squares that were created by a chemical process within the rock. With some luck we may even find a beautiful quartz with crystals which was swept by the Nolla from Piz Beverin down into the valley during the last thunderstorm.
Duration: Hike of about 2 hours return, pram-accessible
The gold source in Alvaneu Bad
Together we will hike along the new Wasserweg Ansaina and through a magical natural forest reserve to the mysterious Arvadi sulphur source in Alvaneu Bad. The locals also call this source the gold source because the water that bubbles out from behind moss-overgrown rocks is said to lend alchemistic powers if you take a big gulp of it. After quenching our thirst at the sulphur source, we will fill our bottles with the mysterious water and place it under our pillows overnight....
Duration: Depending on the variation 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours, return journey by Rhätische Bahn

The legend of the murdered Bellaluna innkeeper
At the Bellaluna inn, which is steeped in history and where the witches are said to have danced during the night, we will tell you the tragic story of the former innkeeper, Paula Roth. It is said that she was robbed and murdered by several cold-blooded robbers who wanted to get at her savings. However, apart from a couple of francs, the robbers came away empty-handed. The real treasure is still hidden some place in the old house.

Building an igloo
An extraordinary adventure! Together with your older children you will snowshoe up to the Alp where you will actively help tread snow, saw and assemble snow blocks. Those who want to can sleep in the igloo. The other participants will hike back to the hotel and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.
Playground
Our playground with a slide and fountain is located right next to the building. Our sand box offers fun for the youngest ones. During the summer, the child carers often take the children here.
The older children will enjoy the nearby edge of the forest to play adventure games or the football field next to the school building.
